James Knight was a Jamaican merchant, planter, and enslaver. In the 1740s he wrote a Natural, Moral, and Political History of Jamaica. The text was never published and survives as a set of manuscripts held by the British Library. This project seeks to reproduce a digitised and annotated transcription of Knight's text, encouraging further research on seventeenth- and early eighteenth-century Jamaica and the wider Anglo-Atlantic World.
